Inpatient Services
The Palliative Care Inpatient Unit at Hospital Queen Elizabeth, Kota Kinabalu provides specialised care for patients with life-limiting illnesses who require symptom management, comfort care, or end-of-life support. The unit offers a calm and supportive environment where patients receive holistic care addressing physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. A multidisciplinary team — including doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals — works closely with patients and their families to ensure comfort, dignity, and quality of life throughout their care journey.
Outpatient Services
We provide accessible and flexible care for patients living with serious or life-limiting illnesses. Through our telehealth and virtual clinic consultations, we support patients who live far away or face physical, financial, or logistical challenges in attending hospital appointments. Our team is also available for walk-in consultations and phone consultations during office hours to address any concerns promptly. These services ensure that every patient receives continuous, compassionate care and guidance, regardless of distance or circumstance.
Community Services
We work closely with community partners such as the Palliative Care Association Kota Kinabalu (PCAKK) and Tawau Hospis, both non-governmental organisations dedicated to extending palliative care beyond the hospital setting. These NGOs play a vital role in ensuring the continuation of care for patients at home, providing regular home visits, emotional support, and assistance with medical needs. Their aims include improving patients’ quality of life, supporting caregivers, raising public awareness about palliative care, and mobilising community resources to ensure that patients receive compassionate and dignified care within the comfort of their own homes.
