“Sunset Serenade – A Celebration of Life and Legacy”, a one-of-a-kind community music festival that aims to open hearts and minds to the importance of palliative and hospice care.
This meaningful free of charge event took place on the 22nd November 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Anjung Selera, Tanjung Lipat, Kota Kinabalu. Organized in conjunction with World Hospice & Palliative Care Day, “Sunset Serenade” draws its inspiration from Dr. Ira Byock’s four important tasks to complete during end of life: I love you, thank you, I forgive you, please forgive me, goodbye. Admission to this event is free for everyone.
Through the universal language of music and the power of storytelling, we aim to:
Raise public awareness about palliative and hospice care.
Encourage open conversations around terminal illness, living meaningfully, and legacy.
Build a compassionate community by inspiring volunteerism in hospice services.
Highlights of the event include:
Live performances by local musicians, choirs, and artists.
Thought-provoking narratives adapted from real-life experiences of patients and families.
Interactive group activities promoting emotional expression and connection.
Candlelight closing ceremony to reflect on life, love, legacy
